has taken his dual passion for sports and art to create some of the most powerful images in sports illustration. Memorializing both great figures and unforgettable moments in sports, James has a unique talent for capturing the heart of the game.
Ferrara achieved early success in his career with his “Super Bowl History” print, licensed in the early 1990's by NFL Properties, Inc. In August 2000, his illustration, "The Will to Win”, depicting legendary coach Vince Lombardi, was accepted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame’s permanent collection. In addition, his work “Titletown USA” was selected as the center attraction, and reproduced as a wall mural for the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Grill located within the Lambeau Field Atrium. “Titletown USA” was also reproduced as a limited edition print, with several pieces being autographed by legendary quarterback Bart Starr and sold at auction for benefit of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame and the Rawhide Foundation.
Ferrara has also achieved success in illustrating high profile sports events, producing artwork for the NFC and AFC Championships, the Super Bowl, the NCAA College World Series, NASCAR/ Daytona 500, the Men's and Women’s Final Four Basketball Tournaments, and the Annual Division I Lacrosse Championship. The Collegiate Licensing Company and the University of Notre Dame granted Mr. Ferrara a license for his illustration commemorating Notre Dame’s Eleven National Championships. “The Fighting Irish,” illustration was one of only a handful of renditions to receive the endorsement from all four of the original Four Horsemen’s families.
With a BA in the Visual Arts and extensive training in both traditional and digital imaging in NYC, James is living out his dream with his family in New Jersey.
